Desde la base del Monumento a Cristo en uno de los lados de la Bahía de La Habana, se aprecia esta vista de la ciudad. Se destacan en primer plano edificaciones de la época colonial así como el Capitolio Nacional en el centro.

From the base of the Christ Monument in one of the sides of Bay of Havana, one can see this view of the city. In the forefront, buildings from colonial times can be seen as well as the National Capitol, at the centre of the picture.

Gran Teatro de La Habana - Havana Grand Theater

El Gran Teatro de La Habana fue inaugurado en 1838. Se encuentra en el Paseo del Prado, a un costado del Capitolio Nacional. Es la sede del Ballet Nacional de Cuba y el escenario principal del Festival Internacional de Ballet de La Habana.

Havana Grand Theater was inaugurated in 1838. It is located at Paseo del Prado, at one of National Capitol's sides. It is the site of Cuba's National Ballet and the main stage of Havana International Ballet Festival.

 

Tarde en La Habana Vieja - Afternoon in Old Havana

Son como las 7:00 pm. La gente está regresando del trabajo o de la escuela. Mientras en casa se prepara la comida, siempre hay un chancecito para conversar, jugar en la calle y tirarle un par de pedradas a los perros callejeros en alguno que otro barrio de La Habana Vieja.

It is about 7:00 pm. People are returning from work or school. While at home dinner is being prepared, there is always a chance to chat a bit, play on the street or throw a couple of little stones to the street dogs in any of the neighborhoods of Old Havana.
